In-Home Wellness Exams

Millwood Animal Hospital now brings compassionate veterinary care right to your home.
Our in-home veterinary services support pets and their families throughout Millwood, New Castle, Chappaqua, Katonah, Lewisboro and Northern Westchester County, New York. We offer high-quality care in the comfort of a familiar environment.

We believe preventative medicine is key to keeping your pet healthy and reducing the risk of costly medical issues. Routine wellness exams, vaccinations, nutritional guidance, and early detection remain the foundation of your pet’s well-being—whether care is provided in our hospital or in your living room.

Just as important, we value clear, thoughtful communication with our clients. We take the time to listen to your concerns, answer questions, and involve you in every step of your pet’s care. Client education is a cornerstone of our approach, and our entire veterinary team is dedicated to providing personalized attention tailored to the unique needs of both you and your pet—at home, where they’re most comfortable.

In-Home Euthanasia

Once the veterinarian arrives, the procedure will be explained clearly and thoughtfully, based on your comfort level and desire for detail. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions at any point—everything is done at a pace guided by you and your pet.

In most cases, your pet will receive a sedative injection first to help them relax and feel completely comfortable. After this injection, you are welcome to spend as much time as you need with your pet before the final medication is administered.

A euthanasia appointment typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes. The initial medication will cause deep relaxation and heavy sedation or anesthesia, ensuring your pet is peaceful and free from discomfort before the final injection is given. Your veterinarian will choose the most appropriate approach for your pet and will discuss what to expect beforehand.

If you choose aftercare services, the veterinarian will respectfully transport your pet and make arrangements for cremation.

Home visit appointments cannot be booked online and must be scheduled by phone. Please contact our office to arrange a home veterinary visit.
