While Millwood, New York, and surrounding communities do not have exceptionally high rates of infectious diseases in companion animals, rabies and a range of other diseases are present. Therefore, Doctors Jeremy Tubbs and Daniela Goldman truly believe that our vaccine protocol is an essential aspect of your pet’s preventative medicine program.

Veterinary vaccines have proved to be an invaluable tool in protecting our pets from fatal diseases, but that does not mean some thought shouldn’t be given to how they are administered. Millwood Animal Hospital tailors its pet vaccination protocol to guidelines established by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the lifestyle of your pet, as well as the diseases he or she is most likely to be exposed to. During your kitten or puppy’s first year of life we also spread out the series of vaccines in order not to put too much strain on his or her developing immune system.

The core dog/cat vaccines our doctors recommend are DHPP and Rabies for dogs and FVRCP and Rabies for cats. We may also recommend Lyme, Leptospirosis, and Canine Flu for your dog and FELV for your cat.
